Safe, tailor-made silicone rubber solutions for the food and pharmaceutical industry

The food and pharmaceutical industries have very specific hygiene and safety requirements.
ATAG’s silicone rubbers play a key role due to their unique characteristics:

  • FDA and USP compliance:
  • Silicone rubbers used must be certified in accordance with FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and USP (United States Pharmacopeia) regulations.
  • Metal detector detectability:
  • Another key requirement is the detectability of metal potentially present in the rubber compounds of drawn elastomers. This prevents the risk of contamination of the final product.
  • Physical and hygienic properties:
  • Drawn elastomers offer excellent chemical, thermal and mechanical resistance, as well as superior hygienic properties. They are easy to clean, do not absorb odors or taste, and have a smooth surface.

  • Using extrusion and molding processes, elastomers can be made into a wide range of shaped profiles, gaskets and other “tailor-made” solutions.
